Hello all. Im new to the forum but have been lurking for a while. I have recently acquired an ATI 600 USB and a Diamond VC500. I have both a windows 10 and a windows XP machine. The ATI 600 is recognized on both computers but when tryin to capture in vDub it only gives me the tuner. I have no other option other than cable and antenna. I used the link for the Vista drivers found on this forum, ran in compatibility for windows 8 and still get the same result.

The VC500 I can't get to work at all. It may be defective. Neither XP or windows 10 machines will recognize it. It fails to install drivers saying 'device not found for these drivers'. When I plug it in the status light on the device is red. The manual states that it should be blue.

I know these devices get talked about and troubleshot on this forum to a nauseating degree and I've tried very hard to not have to resort to signing up just to ask for help but I think it's time.

I've grown tired of using the elgato capture card. While it's easy to use plug and play, I'd really like to take the time and go through the hurdles to get best results.

This isn't for professional services, I am merely a hobbyist with a love of analog video. Thanks in advance and please be nice.

First, make sure that you're plugging each directly into the computer and not into a USB hub.

Also, make sure there are no other capture-capable devices installed; use only one at a time and reboot in between each. I remember the ATI 600 conflicting with the Hauppauge 1600 in a way similar to what you describe.

If it's the Diamond model you can also try their drivers which also have official Windows 7 support (and by extension possibly 10?): https://web.archive.org/web/20170715...er-hd-600.html

Are you saying I need to delete any and all related Elgato capture drivers and software?

Couldn't hurt. Also recommend sticking with Windows XP (maybe even starting with a fresh install) since that's what the 600 was designed to run on.
