Betacam transfer issue?

Hi there!
I have a little issue transferring Betacam tapes to digital. Currently I have Sony UVW-1600P which is hooked up via composite output to my recorder which is Sony RDR-AT205. As you can see from TEST 2 it doesn't happen with all the recordings on the Betacam, but just a few of them. Can you tell me what the issue is and how to solve the problem?

You are doing it all wrong, Betacam is a great format, the last thing you do to it is convert it to crappy DVD mpeg-2 via composite.

The purple artifact could be a problem with the deck or the DVD recorder, you will have to test components one at a time, deck to TV and DVD to TV playing something, Use process of elimination.

Ideally find a deck with SDI out or at least component out and transfer SDI to computer with a SDI interface or capture component with a component capture device.

Hi after connecting the Betacam deck directly to TV with YPbPr the same issue remained. Any idea what could be wrong with the deck or what could I do to solve the issue

That's an electronic issue, you would have to have some technical skills to follow the manufacturer schematic and probe the test points with the oscilloscope.
