This is an old thread topic but worth reopening the discussion.

I believe as the issue was never conclusively resolved and is still a current issue today. I have unfortunatley managed to reproduce this issue on a Windows 10 operating system. I am using a JVC HM-DR10000EU with line TBC and a Cypress GL frame TBC to a Pinacle 710 USB. I swapped out the JVC HM-DR10000EU with a Panasonic NV-HS1000EGC - no change. I then swapped the Cypress for a AVT-8710 green TBC - no change. I sswapped out the Pinacle 710 for another and still no change. I tried different version of
Virtualdub with the same results. I know that the Pinacle 710 works well with windows 10 so the issue had to be software. I uninstalled all sound drivers and reinstalled, no luck. Uninstalled all chipset drivers and reinstalled, no luck. So I formatted another SSD and installed windows 10 and relavent software, issue is resolved. I have scanned all system files (sfc /scannow), no errors, re imaged and still the problem exists on the original drive.
Conclusion, this is a corruption within windows sound system or USB controller but only relating to the use of
Virtualdub playback as everything else using sound works fine. Prior to this happening everything was fine. I did install Videoredo immediatley before this issue. If anyone knows what playback method within windows system that makes it unique that would help. I will do more system testing to try and get to the bottom of this because at the moment only a complete windows reinstall will fix this. I will post back with results as I am sure future users will face this.
