When converting Hi8 and Mini DV tapes,
I wonder which codec and software are the best choices.

1. What is the difference between QTGMC and yadif during deinterlace?

2. What is the difference between avisynth, avisynth+, and vapoursynth?

QTGMC produces much better quality, but takes much, much, much (... much) more processing time.

The original Avisynth is 32-bit only and is no longer developed. Avisynth+ added 64-bit and a bunch of features. Vapoursynth has a whole different syntax and can run natively on Linux in addition to 64-bit Windows (I think -- never used it).
