A niche product. Probably for the low budget streamer or (church) group wanting to extend the life of their investment in old SD technology for live production.

That's it, low budget. But there's also a thriving nostalgia community (like vinyl records), video artists, and muti-source mixed workflow documentary (offline, ie not online aka not NLE).
