DVK-100, ES15, Daewood quality?

I am wondering if the DVK-100 will work like a DVK-200 when it comes to a TBCish set up.

Also, I have an ES15 that seems to play fine, but will not work with a remote (I've tried 3 good remotes). Since I can select my input channel from the buttons, do you think it will still provide functionality to a TBCish workflow?

Lastly, can you give me any insight on the quality playback that a Daewoo DV6T955B DVD/VCR Combo provides? I just picked one up at an estate sale for $20.

The DVK100 often needs modification. The DVK200 often does not. The units can work the same without mods, but the 200 is much better unmodified.

You must have the ES15 remote to turn off onscreen info, and adjust Black Level. What remotes are you trying? You must have the OEM remote for either ES10 or ES15.

I would be surprised if that Daewoo unit was quality.

Something in the unit is keeping it from working with the OEM remote - it works with my other ES15 - but I've never made any settings on it - I'm not sure what needs to be set. *newbee alert* Can you spell it out?

As far as the Daewoo, I'm sure it's a regular home model, but always nice to have an extra for checking tape problems!
