This is a common question.
This is another post I'm making here today, as a side-topic from another post.
Sadly, this based on logical fallacy.
Code:
If X = bad, then all X = bad. I required Y instead.
But that's not the case.
When your shared host is bad -- and realize reseller hosting is still a type of shared hosting -- then it's time to see if the host itself is the problem.
And in the case of any big "unlimited" or "top 10" (fake "rankings" from blogs/sites) hosts -- like
Hostgator,
Bluehost, JustHost, Godaddy, IX Web Hosting,
Dreamhost, 1&1, etc -- it very likely is just that. You've chosen a host poorly. But no worries, you can move.
What you need to do is choose more wisely. Like Indiana Jones.
On this site we'll be glad to help you find a perfect host for your needs. Just post and ask! You can also refer to webhostingtalk.com (WHT), if you want to verify our advice or get a second opinion.
But this post isn't over just yet!
Sometimes your old host was fine, and you do actually need to move to a VPS or dedicated server.
Realize that this is a good thing! Your site is getting more popular, or is using higher-end software to distinguish it from "just another WordPress blog" out there. Something you're doing is working.
In those cases, once you've eliminated the shared/reseller host as the problem, a move to VPS/dedicated is suggested.
Again, you're at the right site for getting advice on who you need. At The Digital FAQ, we have experience using dozens (hundreds now maybe?) of these kinds of hosts (VPS and dedicated). And we can direct you to what you need in terms of price, location, virtualization method, etc
And if some of those concepts are new to you ... we'll explain those, too!

Quite often, problems with web sites are caused by having a rotten web host. Worse yet, many hosts try to blame you (the customer) for the problems! So dump that lousy company. Say goodbye to slow sites, unresponsive support techs, and downtime. Find yourself a new host today. Whether you need shared, reseller, VPS, semi-dedicated, cloud, or dedicated hosting, something on our list should be a good upgrade for you.
