Hi all:
I'm new here, and I'm trying to encode my movies using this KVCD encode. I follow the intruction of Black Prince and d'l all that he said there, well I already had TMPGE 2 58 (I hope that will be good enough for this encoding) and also I already had Vdub, but my problems start after I d/l some of the other software for instance:
Tok, when I go to setting all the spaces are in blanck like work directory, Mad Play Path etc. etc.
HeadAC#, when I opened tells me that couldn't get Vorbis Interface, i went back into Headc web page and I d'l Vorbis SSE2, but still not working. How can i change the bitrate if have not options to do it?
Like I mention before I already had tmpgenc 2 58 where i send my templates for KVCD, how can I make this work, I hope that before the end of the year i can encode on KVCD, but i may be a little stupid for this.
I will apreciate some kind of help,
Thanks all

And it looks like the resolution isn't the only illegal thing found on line25 of your avs script eldee83...

extract the .wav file from the .avi and encode the .wav to .mp2 Then combine the .mp2 (audio) and .m1v (mpeg1 video) or .m2v (mpeg2 video) to get a .mpg (audio + video) file to burn to cd.

You can combine (or multiplex- 'mux') them with TMPGEnc > mpeg tools > simple multiplex
The preferred method though is with BBmpeg (check out that section of the forum and the sticky post in it)

Yeah first you have to encode the .avi to get mpeg video stream (.m1v)
install AviSynth and use CQMatic to get the right filesize.

That would depend on a number of factors, including what your source is, and what its resolution is...how long the movie is....whether or not your dvd player can play all of the kvcd clips on the KVCD Compatibility Test CD, etc. Give us a few more details and you'll recieve better help.
In general, you should try to use MPEG-1 instead of MPEG-2 if your player handles it because it results in a better picture at the low variable bitrates used by KVCDs..and it also results in a smaller filesize.
If you're encoding from divx/xvid (why!!!!? ), then you should encode at the resolution which most closely matches your source file.

Try with :
Code:
AviSource("C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\Finished\backtothefuture.avi",false)
and if it doesn't work, that mean that you miss the correct codec on your PC for this video (I do mean CODEC, not directshow filter).
Note: your script is weird (two temporal filters and nothing else ?).

Well I'm very new at this and am very eager to learn, but it's getting me very confused. Could you show me a sample script? I do have the required codecs for the movie to play, so I don't know what else it could be.
Thanks,
Jose

The sound is encoded apart from the video.
Did you mux the audio (mp2 file) and the video (m1v or m2v) file together ?

Ok now I understand, but I have another problem. My source .avi is 25fps with 636X272 and I want to stretch it out on my tv. I don't want it to be fullscreen or too small on the screen. everytime I try it with moviestacker it gives me a fullscreen or a huge oversized picture.

i seem to be having a problem myself here. ive done everything so far, except use ToK to encode the movie, thats where im having the prob. when i set up Tok and everything, and hit start, everything works fine, but when the movie comes out, instead of having the whole movie and audio muxed, only bits and pieces of the movie are created instead of the whole thing, mayve 6 mins worth, the audio works fine though. i know that way i typed this may make it look a bit confusiong, but i think i get my point acrss. anyone know how to fix my prob. ive attached my .asvs if it helps.
