I've been trying unccessfully to encode a concert DVD that is encoded as interlaced NTSC @ 29.97 fps. It appears to my eye that the original source was video (not film).
I assume that the KVCD process requires converting to a progressive 23.976 fps format.
So far I've:
1. Ripped the video and audio into vobs using DVD Decrypter.
2. Generated a DVD2AVI project with force film OFF and demux for the audio track.
3. Processed the ac3 files with headach3e to generate a 44.1/160kbs dual channel CBR mp2 file.
4. Encoded the video with TMPGEnc using the KVCD Plus template. Video source is interlaced and output stream is 23.976 fps.
5. Muxed the audio and video using the TMPGEnc simple multiplex tool.
The results have "window blind" artifacts wherever there is rapid movements, such as drum sticks & guitar strumming.
So how should I do this, or is this to be expected?
