Hi guys i have had this cheap dvd player for a few years and it plays everything but now it is starting to stutter even on origianl dvds so i think it needs to be cleaned

Those dvd cleaning disks you can buy are they any good or is there a better way to clean it

Open it, take a "cotton stick" (the stuff to clean ears, I don't know the name in english) and clean carefully the lens.

Proceed first with dry cotton and if this is not enought, use alcohol (not perfume because it let a some trace) -> you should verify on a window first if you are not sure that your alcohol let a trace or not.

Actually, it's "Q Tips"
But "Q Tips" is really a trade mark, but the real name is Cotton Swabs
Just like when people ask for a "Kleenex" to wipe their nose, which is also a registered trademark, but it's really a "Tissue Paper"
And I hope one day in the future, when people ask for DVDs or VCDS, everyone will say: "Hand me that KDVD"

Here in the U.K we call them 'cotten ear buds' or just plain 'cotton buds' FYI.
