I've been getting my new AIW capture rig up and running, and everything was going smoothly until I tried to install the drivers for my card (ATI AIW x800 128 EU.) Shortly after launching the installer for ATI catalyst, I get this error:
I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm working from a fresh install of XP with no other drivers to interfere with the ones I'm trying to install, and I've got the right drivers for my card from this thread. What are some things I should try to get the driver to install correctly?

Which exact drivers are you trying?
The PCIe cards cannot use the AGP/PCI drivers, nor AGP/PCI/USB MMC versions. The cards really are not the same, and I'm not overly fond of PCIe for multiple reasons.
You need the PCIe driver install CD, or the Catalyst 10 drivers.

I used Catalyst 10.2 as recommended in the "ATI All In Wonder Hacks, Drivers, Codecs and MMC" thread, so I don't think I'm doing anything wrong there.
Is the X800 128 EU equivalent to the GT? Would it be worthwhile trying to track down an X800 GT install CD, or at least an iso of one?

XP SP2 or SP3?
Or better yet, XP Integral Edition? (Homebrew backported version.)

Found a completed ebay listing of the type of card I've got with accessories:
Zoomed in:
So I need the ATI Catalyst 180-V01111-100 CD in order to get drivers that work for this card. Looks like that CD is fairly easy to find on eBay. I'll wait and see if someone has an iso image first though before I buy anything.

I have a retail AIW X800XL PCIe. I think I just ran the latest Catalyst drivers available for the card off AMD's site under XP.

Also tried the ones from AMD's website (also Catalyst 10.2) and they didn't work either. Got the CD I need in the mail and once it arrives I'll pop an iso up in the AIW drivers thread. I think the drivers just must be different for the 128MB x800s or something.

My card actually came with an earlier CD, 180-V01107-100. Standard retail 256MB PCIe X800XL.

An update. The 180-V01111-100 disc didn't work, and neither did Catalyst 8.31 (which another x800 128 EU owner, don't know if they want to named or not, had success with.) I reckon it's probably an issue with BIOS settings, XP, or my hardware. What sort of troubleshooting could I do to narrow down the source of my issue?

Post the PCI ID# of the card. That's what the driver uses to identify supported hardware.

Sorry for the dumb question, but how do I find out what the PCI ID number is?

Thought I'd mention this in case it is helpful. The install CD I bought does not say "Setup did not find a compatible driver" when it gives me an error, it says "inf Error. Please make sure you're using the default VGA driver." I've checked device manager and I am, and I reset my computer to a restore point from before I tried installing drivers. Could it be possible that there are still some residual bits of another version of catalyst left over that's interfering with the install, even though I restored from a restore point?

Great news! I've got it working!
Turns out you need to use the 180_V01107_100 CD for the 128 EU. Massive thanks to everyone on here who gave me help and support, especially enois and NJRoadfan, who went to the extra trouble of providing me with copies of drivers I didn't have so I could try them out.
Also, device manager reckons the ATI x800 128 EU is a 128MB X800 GT card:
Might be useful information for someone.
