I am looking for recommendations on what software to use to capture/record the videos that is coming from VHS/Hi8/MDV? Currently I have been using QuickTime, but have been questioning whether this will give me the best results. I also plan to post edit each video in Premiere Pro.

Thoughts and Recommendation on MacOS ?

Thank you

What kind of capture method are you using? DV via FireWire? If so, use QuickTime 7.x Pro (registration code available online) and make sure the quality is set to "device native".

vwestlife, thank you for your response. My method is:

VCR -> sony DVMC DA2 -> firewire > firewire-to-thunderbolt 2 -> thunderbolt2-to-USBC -> Macbook Pro

Thank you for the tip on device native, I will test this out.

Rick
