ATI AIW X600 Pro, 9600XT JST PH pinouts diagram?

Hello Everyone,
I tried to read what was possible about the pinout of the ATI AIW cards.

I have in my hands an X600 Pro (PCIe) and a Sapphire All in Wonder 9600XT AGP (109-A09000-00, but without ATI purple connector). So far I’m waiting the JST PH 2.0mm 8 position connector to make my own input connections with composite and s-vhs.

I found this diagram on https://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/vid...onder-pci.html but in my X600 and 9600XT not sure what is the PIN number 1 and if it’s the same for both (orientation).

So to recap, the questions are:
- Can someone confirm me please the pinout of the JST PH connector?
- What is the PIN 1 on both cards?
- The JST PH connector has the same pinout for both x600 Pro and 9600XT?
- Can I eventually cut one of the purple ATI box and merge the mini DIN with the JST PH cables?
- Since I have the silver strange connector but for output, can I eventually modify it and converting from output to input? (seems the more complex solution)

If it makes any difference, I'm talking about PAL system (I'm in Europe).

Page 52 of the AIW 9800 manual attached to post 10 of the following thread indicates that pin one is on the left in both images you have attached.

I do have one of the cards that has the separate header and have verified that the grounds at least are in the same places as have been noted on the diagrams, so the rest is presumably the same.

The problem with cards like the 9600 is that there is no monitor output without the hard to find adapter, so there's not much point in doing a direct S-Video input mod since you'll still need it for your computer display to work. There's no point in running the audio into the board since the same can be achieved by running audio into your sound card.

So I'd say go with the X600/X800 if you're looking for a PCI-E card and use the separate header to make an S-Video cable that goes into it, or if you want AGP, it's easy enough to make an S-Video to 7 pin Din connector that is shorter that gets rid of the need for the purple domino adapter.

There are actually quite a few inexpensive X600/X800's on eBay right now.

If you're looking for an AGP card, I'd say go with the AIW 9000 or AIW 9200 - these can use the easy to find purple domino cables, or you can just make your own S-Video to 7 pin din cable.

I haven't actually tried my X600 yet since I don't have a good computer to put it into, had to replace a couple of components that were knocked off of it at some point in the past. Also, while apparently not a super common problem, these AIW cards could probably use a recap at least of their smaller SMT capacitors. Several of my capacitors tested bad, so I just always replace them.

Thanks to both for contribution and the pinouts schema.

For the 9600 I have the adapter (pic in attachment) so it's fully usable.

Regarding the X600, do you know what are eventually the cap to replace? I never did but before attempting I can play on other boards eventually and then replace. In any case for the moment I'll test as they are and I hope should work.
