Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the Hi-fi audio boards in JVC S-VHS decks? I have a japanese market HR-S9800 and the board is corroded by leaky capacitors, when changing one of them the trace lifted off and it is hard to locate where the trace went to to jump it, its obscured by the silkscreen and is close to two resistors so its hard to see visually. The part number is PB20438 and its usually described as IC1 in manuals. The service manuals I found don't include it.

Originally I tried to get a cleaner replacement but it seems to only be in European and Japanese models, the US models on this platform have a different board PB20432. I tried a broken HR-S6800U but it doesn't have it. I've seen it on an HR-S5800 too I think. I'm not really interested in trying to import another machine to the US for parts.

I've had this track lifting problem while removing SMD caps from PCB's. It might be worth uploading a good quality picture of the affected area on the PCB.

Look up the service manual of your VCR exact model with the last two letters suffix, not just the main model#, or post here so we can help you find it if it exists.

There is no suffix. The model is a Victor HR-S9800. It's a bit difficult to find the service manual because it was a Japanese market machine. Closest device I could find was the HR-S5800U.

Can you take a picture of the back label on the VCR?

That is obscure, Try contacting this YT member, he works on a lot of Japanese VCRs and I'm pretty sure he doesn't mind sharing a picture of the manual page if has one.

There is what appears to be a part number on the board photo; i.e., PB204xx

this past thread might be of interest

I saw that thread, The 4700 and 6800 mentioned in the thread, I got as parts decks but I got the U model, I am assuming the original poster got a european model since their location says Italy, maybe the parts are different but the U models do not have the same board, the service manual for the 6800EA shows a middle audio board on the side, which should be the one that contains the Hi-fi board but it is absent on the US models, the Hi-fi board is on the video board for them and it is a different board with the part number PB20432 not PB20438.
