Hello again,

I am visiting my old thread (again) because the capture workflow for 576i (Panasonic DMR & BM Intensity Shuttle) is still suggested/appreciated in PAL related discussions online. However, with the introduction of Apple silicon and due to the "vanishing" of many helpful threads from BM's official forums, there seems to be some uncertainty about the requirements.

I can confirm the capture workflow still performs in 2026: the last supported BM Desktop Video software for the Intensity Shuttle Thunderbolt (not USB 3.0) was version 12.9, including the capture software BM Media Express version 3.8.1, compatible with macOS 15.7.4 (Sequoia), for Intel based Macs only.

For Apple silicon you could replace the Intensity Shuttle with the new Magewell USB Capture HDMI Gen 2. According to the manufacturer that device supports 576i via HDMI input. Instead of BM Media Express you could then use OBS Studio for Mac.
