I recently downloaded and installed, then ran a .MPEG file just to test/learn how Avidmux works, but there is no "GO" after loading, and there is no clue in the (Well Documented) Guides how to SAVE? or save processed file...BTW..I installed the 64 bit version because I have a 64 bit win 7 PC, with MSI MoBo and 111GB (124) SSD ...Should I try the Win 32 bit Version?...(x86) instead?....After trying to save file, I got numerous "Tiny-byte"errors!....Version 2.6.8...But now I Erased all data and installed Newest version 8.6.10...will report later

Thanx GoldWing, Thats what I thought,Hit "Save" or "Save As" plus type in a name for file, but then my computer told me I needed ADMIN permission to save, would I like to save in AMD Athelon...etc..instead?...Also many "TinyByte(?)" errors, so I Uninstalled, plus deleted all files on "C" drive, and then found out there is a newer version (2.6.10) on Avidmux site....I was trying out version 2.6.8 (64bit) from Sourceforge....Will Try Again...Plus found WIKI instructions/Help on Avidemux site!..(If all else fails, then read the instructions dummy! )...maybe better luck with 32 bit (x86) version instead,... as I have learned from these DFAQ forums and Lordsmurf: Sometimes the Latest IS NOT the Greatest!!

2.5 and 2.6 will both crash frequently, depending on the source and output. Remember, it's hobby-grade freeware, not professional quality payware.
2.5 is best to encode MPEG.
2.6 is best to encode H.264 in MP4 or MKV wrappers.
I wrote this last year: http://www.digitalfaq.com/guides/vid...idemux-pt1.htm
If it needs more clarifications, let me know. It was for 2.5 and MPEG, and used a MP4/AVI source.

Just didn't see in those guides what to do after after all settings were made, and make it start processing/encoding after that...I assumed it's the Save button?

File > Save As, then you type the full filename (ie, "video.mp4" or "video.mpg").
Avidemux doesn't add the extensions.
Again, freeware hobby tool, not professional tool -- there are bugs and user-unfriendly aspects in how it works.
