Hybrid lets you choose Vapoursynth or Avisynth method. Did you try both?
Vapoursynth is default, then Avisynth x64, then x86(32).
The only real alternative is a better than Yadif, like a direct nnedi or tdeint+edi. And there are things you can do to Yadif to make it suck less.
Don't give up on QTGMC just yet.
Besides, the other methods will require manual scripting, and may as well try QTGMC manually at that point. I'm actually not sure what all Hybrid includes for QTGMC alternatives, off-hand, but know some exist.
