I have my own NAS server at home I usually use for Plex. I almost exclusively ripped everything using MakeMKV. However, after reading this forum, if appears the best suggested software to use (at least for DVD ripping) is DVD Decrypter. Going forward, I'm giving DVD Decrypter a shot. I already ripped a movie using DVD Decrypter using IFO mode. However, I have a .vob file now. It appears I will need to re-encode it using Hybrid. But what are the suggested best settings? I have read on another thread regarding best settings for going from avi to x264 (https://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/vid...tings-avi.html), but I don't know if that is also generally the best method for .vob files too. Does this generally still hold true? Also, should I use mp4 or mkv container, or does it not really matter in this case?
