There are a lot of DV boxes out there but one stood out since it has analog A/V INs and OUTs, The Datavideo DAC-2. I was wondering if this has an active analog path or a passive analog path, If active that means the analog video is going thru the ADC and timing and out via a DAC, the other end goes to the DV encoder and out to firewire. If passive that means it has a small distribution amp that splits the analog input into two, one for digitizing and one for monitoring, and in this case it is useless- See proposed schematics.

Beside just skepticism is anybody own one of these or know where I can get the schematics for? If this is designed like the Edirol VMC-1 it is potentially a great device to be used as TBC, Well I know the responses so let's just say at least as an ES-10/15.

That's bad news, I would still like to see the schematic just for shits and giggles, But getting schematics for those devices is almost impossible, these companies didn't want to share their designs with the rest of the world in fear of copy cats.
