DVD-VIDEO GUIDES  ->

This page appears as the front page of www.dvdguides.org. Welcome to the site.

Since most people are likely to have found this site by links to the varying guide pages, this service is pretty obvious. We provide free articles/guides/tutorials for the do-it-yourself video hobbyists. If these guides help you in any way, all we ask in return is a donation for the upkeep of the servers and domains. This part of the site will not only stay online, but will grow to keep up with DVD technology, for as long as funding is available.

If at any time you are unable to convert or restore a video to your liking, please contact us for our video services. We have the experience and equipment necessary for tackling most situations, as it concerns traditional homemade sources.

Where.
On the menu to the left is a section titled DVD VIDEO GUIDES. Each section outlines the basic components that may be needed to create your DVD (some sections are mandatory, some are optional, be sure to read the basics guides to learn more). Clicking on the section name takes you to a listing for all guides in that section. Only the most popular guides are on the menu you currently see on the left side of the screen. Always be sure to read the introduction articles.

What. These guides will help you learn how to create high quality DVDs. Maybe even professional quality, depending on the hardware and condition/attributes of the source video.

and the big one...

Why. We understand you'll likely be all over the Internet and book stores looking for information on this hobby. Which is an admirable quality, to read and learn. Sadly, not everybody online shares this belief. The Internet is full of liars, conspiracists, charlatans, egotists, and general run-of-the-mill morons. Because so many video sites online are nothing more than forums, you will likely see many of these people, and be subjected to countless piles of their literary manure. In addition to simply providing accurate information, one of the goals of this site is to help people learn how to filter out the misinformation spewed by those undesirables.

This site is for the educated and intelligent laymen, the common person that just wants some honest help. No malarkey, no ego, no conspiracies, no lies, no ignorance. Just solid information to keep this an enjoyable activity. This is another reason our support forum is a paid service, as these same undesirables tend to be cheap. It's amazing how a few greenback singles can be such an effective bouncer.

Enjoy the guides! Good luck on your video project!
